Transformer Burdens

A burden is used to place a load on the transformer-under-test. The load is intended to simulate the actual operating conditions which the transformer will see in service. Knopp Incorporated offers a wide variety of burdens, both American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and International Electrical Commission (IEC). We can also custom design burdens to suit virtually any requirement.

A Knopp BSC-25 Current Burden is shown below.  It contains the following ANSI Standard Burdens:  B-0.1; B-0.2; B-0.5; B-0.9; and B-1.8.  Other Burden combinations are available.
