Knopp has developed a worldwide reputation for designing and
manufacturing voltage and current transformers with extremely high accuracy (low errors).
Our capabilities include precision voltage transformers up to 36,000 Volts and current
transformers up to 10,000 amperes. Typical accuracies are well within ±0.02% on ratio and
±2 minutes on phase angle. We can also custom-design a two-stage transformer for even
better accuracy.
These transformers are commonly found in transformer
test equipment used by many electric utilities and transformer manufacturers. Our
transformers are also found in systems for measuring electrical losses in large
distribution transformers and electric motors.
We have some "standard" catalog offerings but a large
percentage of our work is in custom designs to suit specific requirements.
Our transformers are typically shipped with a Certificate of
Calibration showing the accuracy as traceable to the United States' National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST). We can also arrange for actual calibration of the
transformer by NIST should that be preferred.
